Architecture
Stainless steel defines modern architecture, from iconic high-rise buildings to sculptural façades. The material is durable, corrosion-resistant and offers a wide range of surface design options. Depending on the finish, it can appear mirror-polished, coloured, textured or deliberately understated. These surfaces are used for façades, ceilings, elevators, interior fit-outs and artworks.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Which stainless steel finishing processes are suitable for façades and exterior applications?
For façades, blasted, ground, mirror-polished, pattern-rolled and patterned finishes are available, depending on the design and requirements. PVD/TiN coatings add colour while making the surface harder and more resistant to weathering. nanoINOX® also makes cleaning easier and reduces exterior maintenance.
Which materials are suitable for façades?
Depending on the location, exposure and desired finish, different stainless steel grades are used for façades. These include 1.4301, 1.4404 and 1.4435, as well as higher-alloy grades and duplex stainless steels for particularly demanding environments. We also process other material grades on a project-specific basis as required.
Does mirrorINOX also supply small quantities for individual projects?
Yes. At our own production facility, we handle projects ranging from two square metres to several tens of thousands of square metres.
How does mirrorINOX support architects and planners in selecting materials?
Our sample fan allows specifiers to see and feel the surface in advance. We also provide direct advice on processes, grades and finishes and, if required, work with our partners to support the design and installation stages.
Why do renowned architects choose stainless steel?
Stainless steel combines everything that matters in architecture: aesthetics, durability, corrosion and UV resistance, and a high recycling rate. It also offers exceptional design freedom: from matt brushed finishes to mirror-polished surfaces, virtually any design can be achieved.
