FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Which small parts are suitable for PVD/TiN coating?
The process is ideal for parts with complex geometries that cannot be manufactured from pre-coated sheet: door handles, hardware, screws, handrails, fittings, light switches, furniture fittings and structural components of all kinds. The surface quality, cleanliness and packaging of the parts are crucial – we will be happy to advise you in detail.
Which PVD/TiN colours are available for small parts?
Five standard colours are available: Champagne-TiN, Gold-TiN, Rose Gold-TiN, Bronze-TiN and Black-TiN. Custom variants are available on a project-specific basis.
Where are PVD/TiN-coated small parts used?
Architecture and interior design, elevator construction, shipbuilding and yacht building, shopfitting, sanitary applications, building services and catering. Wherever individual components need to match the colour of the finished overall surface—with no visible difference between sheet metal and small parts.
What is the maximum size for small parts to be PVD/TiN coated?
The coating system can process parts up to:
- Length: 1,600 mm
- Width: 400 mm
- Height: 300 mm
Depending on the geometry and surface area to be coated.
For custom dimensions and complex parts, we recommend a personal consultation.
What is the difference between PVD/TiN systems for sheets and small parts?
The sheet coating line is designed for the uniform coating of large-format, flat sheets. By contrast, the small-parts coating line is used to coat prefabricated three-dimensional components such as handles, fittings or profiles. Fixturing, orientation and process control are adapted to the specific geometry. This allows sheets and components to be finished in coordinated PVD/TiN colours.
Can PVD-coated small parts be combined with other finishes?
Yes. Since we coat both sheet metal and small components in the same shades, surfaces and components can be perfectly colour-matched. This is particularly relevant for elevator cabins, shopfitting or architectural projects where sheet metal and fittings need to create a consistent appearance.
