FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What sheet sizes are available for mirror-polished stainless steel used in large-scale sculptures?
For large-scale sculptures, mirror-polished sheets up to 16,000 × 4,000 mm and up to 100 mm thick can be processed. Special formats are assessed on a project-specific basis.
How does mirrorINOX support artists with technical implementation?
From material selection through to installation, we support projects in close collaboration with artists, studios and implementation partners. For special requirements, we develop custom processes and equipment as needed, for example for unusual formats or precisely defined mirror effects.
How can stainless steel artworks be given a coloured finish?
PVD/TiN and nanoINOX® coatings are used to create coloured finishes. This allows sheet metal and small components to be produced in a range of colours, as demonstrated by a project involving 10,000 coated stainless steel bells. For exterior applications, the coatings also provide UV and corrosion resistance.
Why is stainless steel suitable for art in public spaces?
Stainless steel is weather-resistant and mechanically robust. Finishes such as BEADS, VIBES and SATIN, as well as patterned-rolled or mirror-polished finishes, reflect the light, colours and structures of their surroundings. The material’s durability helps preserve the artwork’s visual impact for many years.
