Medical Technology
In medical technology and pharmaceutical plant engineering, hygiene, chemical resistance and ease of cleaning are essential. Mechanically polished surfaces and nanoINOX® coatings meet these requirements even in sensitive areas. Large formats up to 16,000 × 4,000 × 30 mm also reduce the number of weld seams in vessel construction.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Which finishes are suitable for sterile applications?
For sterile areas, ground and mirror-polished surfaces with defined roughness values are available. Perfect Mirror No. 10® achieves values below Ra 0.1 µm, reduces adhesion and facilitates cleaning. nanoINOX® adds anti-fingerprint and easy-to-clean properties to the surface.
Which stainless steel grades are suitable for manufacturing medical containers?
The main grades processed are 1.4301 and 1.4404, as well as 1.4310, 1.4435 and Duplex 1.4462 for specific orders. Selection depends on the corrosive environment, forming requirements, weldability and the required surface quality.
What advantages do large formats offer for medical technology?
Sheets up to 16,000 × 4,000 mm and 30 mm thick enable large tank surfaces with fewer weld seams. This reduces potential weak points, simplifies cleaning and lowers fabrication costs. At the same time, they also make it possible to implement applications for which standard formats or 2R mill finishes are insufficient.
How does mirrorINOX contribute to more sustainable production?
Depending on the grade, stainless steel contains a high proportion of recycled material and can be recycled again at the end of its life cycle. Durable, colourfast and chemically resistant finishes also help extend the service life of components and reduce replacement cycles.
