Tank and Vessel Construction
In tank construction, the surface finish is a key factor in hygiene, cleanability and process reliability. Ground and polished finishes down to below Ra 0.1 µm meet the requirements of the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. Sheets up to 16,000 × 4,000 × 30 mm can be processed – including Duplex and Hastelloy®.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What technical advantages do mirror-polished surfaces offer for process vessels?
Mirror polishing can achieve surface roughness values below Ra 0.1 µm. The exceptionally smooth surface reduces adhesion and inhibits the accumulation of microorganisms. In the pharmaceutical and food industries, it supports efficient CIP and SIP cleaning processes and improves corrosion resistance.
Which formats and materials can mirrorINOX process?
We process sheets up to 16,000 × 4,000 mm and up to 30 mm thick. In addition to common grades such as 1.4301 and 1.4404, Duplex, Hastelloy® and other special alloys are also available. Large formats can help reduce the number of weld seams in plant and vessel construction.
How does pre-processing improve workflows in tank construction?
The sheets are ground, blasted or polished before further processing. This reduces finishing work on the completed vessel and ensures consistent surface quality. Particularly for fermentation tanks or reaction columns, this can reduce production time and costs.
In which applications are the finishes used?
The finished sheets are used for pressure and vacuum vessels, agitator vessels, heat exchangers, absorbers and crystallizers, among other applications. For marine applications and visible areas of installations, finishes such as Marine Mirror No. 9 are also available.
