Pattern-rolled stainless steel sheets 5WL 7WL NAIAD SWELL

Pattern-rolled stainless steel sheets

Pattern-rolled stainless steel sheets from our own production – manufactured on our in-house rolling line. Patterns such as 5WL, 6WL and 7WL combine a distinctive appearance with functional properties. They reduce friction and offer up to 30% better sliding performance than smooth sheets.

Properties

  • Weight advantage through reduced sheet thicknesses = cost savings
  • Low frictional resistance due to minimized contact surfaces
  • 30% improved slip properties (5WL, 6WL, 7WL)
  • High rigidity due to the textured finish = improved stability
  • More scratch-resistant than smooth sheet metal
  • Easy-care surface
  • Available with PVD/TiN coating
  • Anti-fingerprint / easy-to-clean coating (coloured, transparent) available

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between pattern rolling and patterning?

With embossed finishes, the sheet is rolled on one side—ideal for a high-quality appearance and scratch resistance. Pattern rolling involves rolling both sides, additionally creating visual flatness, greater rigidity and interesting light reflections. We offer both options and will advise you on the right choice for your project.

Which materials can mirrorINOX pattern-roll?

In addition to stainless steel, we also process aluminium, brass, copper and other non-ferrous metals. Pattern rolling improves both the surface quality and the mechanical properties of all these materials.

What technical advantages do pattern-rolled surfaces offer over smooth sheet metal?

Pattern-rolled sheets are scratch-resistant, visually flat and offer greater rigidity. Depending on the rolled pattern, properties such as slip characteristics or robustness can be tailored to specific requirements – equally relevant for mechanical engineering, architecture and façade construction.

What dimensions are possible for pattern rolling?

Pattern-rolled sheets in widths up to 1,500 mm, lengths up to 6,000 mm and thicknesses up to 2.0 mm – available in coil or sheet form.

Which industries are pattern-rolled stainless steel sheets suitable for?

Pattern-rolled surfaces are used in architecture and façade design, shipbuilding and yacht construction, shopfitting and exhibition stand construction, as well as mechanical engineering—wherever surfaces need to combine functionality with visual appeal.

Does mirrorINOX offer exclusive rolled textures?

Yes. We develop and produce our own rolled patterns, available exclusively from mirrorINOX. This provides additional design options for projects with bespoke design requirements.

Can mirrorINOX apply additional finishes to pattern-rolled sheets?

Yes. Pattern-rolled finishes can be combined directly with other processes, such as PVD/TiN coating, nanoINOX® coating or mirror polishing. Everything from a single production source, with no detours.
