FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which mirror-polished finishes are suitable for marine applications?

Super Mirror No. 8, Marine Mirror No. 9 and Perfect Mirror No. 10® are available for yacht and shipbuilding applications. The mirror-polished sheets are available in sizes up to 16,000 × 4,000 mm and thicknesses up to 30 mm. Large dimensions can reduce the number of weld seams required for large-area cladding.

How does nanoINOX® protect against fingerprints and soiling?

nanoINOX® gives sheet metal and components anti-fingerprint and easy-to-clean properties. The sol-gel coating facilitates cleaning, protects the surface against external influences and is also available in coloured versions, including within the uniqueSURPHACE® series.

What possibilities does PVD coating offer?

Cleats, blocks, profiles, handles and lettering can be coated in the same PVD/TiN colours as large-format sheets. This creates a consistent appearance across different components.

Which stainless steel grades are suitable for saltwater environments?

For marine applications, V4A grades such as 1.4404 and 1.4571 are primarily used. Where corrosion exposure is particularly high, duplex stainless steels are also processed, offering increased resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking.
