Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Eco Etching and how does it differ from conventional etching?
Conventional etching processes use acids and chemicals. Eco Etching creates precise textures, lettering and designs on stainless steel using a more resource-efficient process, while retaining the full range of design possibilities.
What motifs and designs can be created with Eco Etching?
Geometric ornaments, photorealistic images, lettering, logos and custom graphics – virtually any design can be created. The artwork only needs to be prepared once, and no screen production is required. This reduces initial costs and makes Eco Etching cost-effective even for smaller production runs.
Which base finishes and materials are suitable for Eco Etching?
Eco Etching can be applied to mirror-polished finishes (No. 7 to No. 10), ground, blasted and PVD-coated finishes, as well as to 2B and 2R. In addition to stainless steel in standard grades, aluminium, brass, copper and titanium can also be processed.
Can Eco Etching be combined with PVD coating or nanoINOX®?
PVD coatings can be applied before or after the Eco-Etching process, enabling coloured designs with a textured surface. nanoINOX® can then be applied to reduce fingerprints and facilitate cleaning in high-traffic areas.
Which applications and industries is Eco Etching suitable for?
Elevator cabins and doors, escalator structures, shopfitting and exhibition stand construction, as well as façade design. Wherever bespoke design and technically sophisticated metal surfaces are required – from one-off production to large-scale series.
How quickly does mirrorINOX deliver Eco-Etching products?
High production capacities enable short lead times, even at short notice. Thanks to high repeatability, repeat orders can be fulfilled quickly and with consistent surface quality.
