Surface Measurements at mirrorINOX
In addition to visual inspection, mirrorINOX uses a three-angle gloss meter and a surface roughness tester for quality control.

The three-angle gloss meter is used to measure high gloss (20-degree geometry), medium gloss (60-degree geometry) and low gloss (85-degree geometry). The principle of gloss measurement is based on measuring specular reflection.
For this purpose, the intensity of the reflected light is measured within a narrow range of the reflection angle. Roughness measurement (roughness/roughness depth) determines variations in surface height and expresses them in µm. The measured values are the average roughness Ra (arithmetic mean roughness) and the mean roughness depth Rz.
